Join Leidos as a Systems Engineer in Washington, DC

Leidos Security and Engineering Programs (SEP) seeks a dynamic Systems Engineer for the Center for Information Systems Security (CISS) program. This role offers unique growth in networking, information assurance, and beyond for motivated professionals. Work flexible hours (Mon-Fri 2PM-10:30PM) in Washington, DC, with occasional Chantilly, VA travel.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Integrate new COTS/GOTS systems into production, ensuring mission readiness.
  • Manage CMDB change controls and correct discrepancies.
  • Resolve complex issues across users, servers, networks, appliances; document in knowledge DB/ticketing.
  • Analyze DoD Network Monitoring data, audit systems, remediate risks/incidents.
  • Act as Area of Responsibility (AOR) expert post-training: analyze, recommend, execute fixes.

Basic Qualifications

  • BS + 4-8 years, Masters + 4+ years, or HS + 10+ years relevant experience.
  • Interim Top Secret clearance (Final TS required).
  • Expertise in Windows Server tools (WSUS, GPO, AD, RDP, DNS, DHCP); mid-high RHEL troubleshooting.
  • Low-mid Windows 11/Server 2022/2025; GOTS/COTS apps; industrial/Dell systems; Tier 3 support.
  • AWS/Docker; databases (PostgreSQL, MariaDB); proactive team player with strong skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lifecycle management (imaging/disposition); network tools (OpManager, Solarwinds, PRTG).
  • RAID, virtualization, UPS/infra troubleshooting; ticketing (Remedy, ServiceNOW).
  • NOC/Tier 3 experience; basic Juniper/Palo Alto; PowerShell/CMD.

Pay Range: $87,100 - $157,450 USD. Leidos values innovators who challenge norms. Posted January 13, 2026; open at least 3 days.

  • Review DoD Network Monitoring data, audit systems, assess/remediate risks
  • Serve as AOR expert: analyze issues, recommend/implement remediations
