Join Leidos as a Telecommunications Engineering Technician

Leidos, a Fortune 500™ company, is seeking a skilled Telecommunications Engineering Technician to support the FAA's National Airspace Systems Integration Support (NISC) program. Based in Salt Lake City, UT, this role supports the Central Service Area - Engineering Services Group, focusing on transitioning National Airspace Connectivity from TDM to IP. Key projects include Telecommunications Infrastructure Replacement, Small Tower Voice Switches, Air to Ground Protocol Converters, and NEXCOM Radios.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review FAA databases and conduct site surveys to draft Site Survey Reports (SSR).
  • Coordinate schedules with SSC, ES, Verizon, and LEC personnel; resolve conflicts and manage outages with Air Traffic Operations.
  • Draft Project Risk Plans (PRP), Operational Risk Management Plans (ORMP), transition plans, and site preparation project plans.
  • Generate and update drawings, sketches, and artifacts using tools like AutoCAD.
  • Develop briefings, reports on District status, and review Verizon Site Specific Implementation Plans (SSIP).
  • Accompany unbadged personnel and support interstate service flows, transitions, and cutovers.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Electronics Engineering + 2 years experience OR Master’s degree (experience may substitute).
  • Up to 75% travel required.
  • Public Trust Security Clearance eligibility (U.S. Citizen or 3+ year Permanent Resident).
  • MS Office Suite proficiency.

Desired Skills & Knowledge

  • 2+ years Telco network troubleshooting.
  • AutoCAD proficiency.
  • Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, OSHA, construction/electrical safety, and NAS facilities (ASR, ATCT, VOR, ARSR, RCAG).
