Join Leidos Advanced Warfare Technology Division

Leidos, a leader in DoD electronic design and chiplet manufacturing, seeks a Test Software Engineer for our growing Advanced Warfare Technology (AWT) division in San Diego, CA. Protect the warfighter and national security by transforming state-of-the-art processing algorithms into real-time systems on custom SoCs. Work in small, multi-disciplinary agile teams delivering rapid prototypes for high-performance RF signal processing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Python/MATLAB APIs for Hardware Test Equipment control.
  • Design intuitive GUIs for Leidos SoC products.
  • Build complex HITL testing systems for RF applications.
  • Collaborate with systems, hardware, firmware, and signal processing experts.
  • Document and communicate technical solutions effectively.
  • Support occasional field testing events.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Computer/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
  • 4+ years Python/MATLAB/C++ experience; object-oriented design expertise.
  • Hardware interfaces (PCIe/UART/Ethernet), build tools, git/Jenkins, testing methodologies.
  • Active Secret clearance (TS/SCI eligible).

Preferred Skills

  • Master’s degree; higher clearance; embedded debugging (oscilloscopes/logic analyzers).
  • Gitlab ticketing; bash scripting.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and test object-oriented applications in Python/MATLAB
  • Develop software to configure and control RF hardware devices
  • Integrate low-level software with user-facing GUIs
  • Develop Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) tests for low-level software APIs
  • Design and implement test frameworks for HITL environments
  • Document test software and embedded systems
  • Communicate technical details to internal and external engineers
  • Support system field testing and collection events (1-2 weeks/year)
  • Contribute to multi-disciplinary teams in agile/spiral development
