Join Leidos as a Transmission Line Engineer

Leidos is seeking a skilled Transmission Line Engineer to join our dynamic PowerDelivery team. Work remotely in a fast-paced environment, tackling challenging electric transmission problems for major U.S. utilities. This role focuses on designing extra high-voltage (EHV) overhead and underground systems, applying standards like NESC, ASCE, and ACI.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as an engineer on transmission line design projects including voltage conversion, new capacity, and infrastructure replacements.
  • Conduct engineering analyses and prepare bidding documents, plans, specifications, material procurement, and construction documents.
  • Collaborate with multi-person Leidos teams and interface with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management personnel.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2+ years relevant experience with Bachelor’s (1+ years with Master’s) in electric utility transmission systems design.
  • Proficiency in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
  • Strong team and independent work capabilities; excellent communication skills.
  • Occasional client office work or travel may be required.

Desired Skills & Certifications

  • Experience with TOWER, LPILE, FAD, Mathcad, AutoCAD, MicroStation, or GIS.
  • EIT or PE certification.
