Job Description

Join Leidos as a TRANSPORT / IP (TRIP) NOC Technician

Leidos Digital Modernization Sector supports the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) in delivering critical GIG/DISN services to DoD and national security organizations. This role in the 24x7 DISA Global Operations Center (DGOC) at Scott AFB ensures reliable network operations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create and update tickets using ITSM for real-time incident tracking.
  • Monitor alarms across tools, correlate faults, isolate root causes, and drive resolutions.
  • Provide fault isolation, troubleshooting, and coordination with providers for service restoration.
  • Execute reroutes, normalization, and SLA verification during outages or ASIs.
  • Deliver 24/7 sustainment, situational awareness, escalations, and Tier 1/2 support.
  • Collaborate with shift leads, leadership, and customers on complex issues.

Basic Qualifications

  • DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 certification (e.g., Security+ CE).
  • Active Secret clearance (Top Secret eligible); US Citizenship required.
  • 24/7 shift work capability.
  • Experience in alarm surveillance, fault/LAN/performance management.
  • Expertise in DISN technologies: routers, switches, crypto, Cisco/Juniper, DWDM, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tech control facility or cyber transport background.
  • Circuit actions and vendor coordination experience.

  • Expertise in routers, switches, crypto, routing, DSN/DRSN, Video Services, Promina, Cisco, Juniper, MSPP, DWDM, Optical Switching (experience)
  • General understanding of transport and IP network topologies (experience)
  • Ability to work 24/7 shifts (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Monitor network events and element failures 24x7 using multiple tools
  • Perform incident correlation, fault analysis, isolation, and resolution
  • Create/update tickets in ITSM and notify contacts for critical incidents
  • Restore networks/services, reroute circuits, and verify SLAs
  • Provide Tier 1/Tier 2 support, situational awareness, and escalation
  • Coordinate with service providers and document in CMDB
  • Assist in training, SOP feedback, and technical advice to peers/customers
