Job Description

Transport Network Specialist - Leidos SMIT Program

Join Leidos on the Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT) program, the Navy's largest IT services initiative. Deliver the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI), unifying shore-based networks for enhanced capability, service, and cost savings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively analyze, design, plan, and support NMCI transport areas for voice, video, and data communications including BAN/LAN/WLAN/WAN, cross-domain solutions, COMSEC, and piers connectivity.
  • Develop solutions and engineering work for networking/transport projects.
  • Participate in upgrades, replacements, configurations, and maintenance planning.
  • Provide secure, efficient systems architecture and topology solutions.
  • Contribute to IT modernization, expansion, and improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with technical experts, customers, and stakeholders for analysis, review, and validation.
  • Comply with ITSM processes, MBSE governance, DoDI 8500.01, and DON 5239 cybersecurity requirements.
  • Maintain engineering processes, checklists, and procedures.

Shift: Sunday – Tuesday every other Wednesday, 0500 – 1700 EST.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in relevant field + 2-4 years experience or Masters + <2 years.
  • 2+ years on similar programs; active Secret clearance; U.S. Citizen.
  • Technical expertise in DoD networks, enterprise IT environments.
  • Security+ or DoD 8570 certification; travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • DoD/Navy program experience.
  • Certifications: CCNA/CCNP, INCOSE CSEP, ITIL, CISSP.

  • Experience in large IT enterprise and DoD networks (experience)
