Leidos is seeking an experienced Transportation Operations and Safety Engineer to lead multi-disciplinary research programs across federal, state, and local government contracts. Join our Surface Transportation group and contribute to cutting-edge projects at facilities like the Saxton Transportation Operations Laboratory (STOL). This 100% remote role offers flexibility while driving safety and operational excellence in US transportation systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Management: Oversee Federal safety research contracts, manage budgets, timelines, and teams while serving as the primary client liaison.
  • Technical Leadership: Guide projects on TSMO strategies, safety countermeasures, ITS implementation, and infrastructure audits to enhance road safety.
  • Business Development: Lead proposals, identify market opportunities, and build partnerships to grow Leidos' transportation portfolio.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s or higher in Transportation/Civil/Systems Engineering or related field.
  • 12+ years managing transportation projects with DOTs, FHWA, or USDOT.
  • Proven expertise in safety, operations, data analysis, and stakeholder management.
  • US work authorization and Public Trust clearance eligibility (3 years US residency in last 5).

Preferred Qualifications

Deep experience with State DOT safety/operations programs, publications, and complex project delivery. Strong leadership fostering collaboration across teams and clients.
