Traveling Security Control Assessor
Leidos seeks mid-to-senior Security Control Assessors for high-impact DoD cybersecurity missions. Expect 85% travel (domestic/international) with per diem coverage. Base near Alexandria, VA; Fort Meade, MD; or Chambersburg, PA for training/meetings. Max starting salary: $112,500. Requires Top Secret/SCI eligibility + IAT/IAM II cert.
Position Overview
Start with virtual training (lectures/exams) + local 'check rides' shadowing experts in DC-Baltimore. Then join rotating travel schedule. Outthink the status quo—disrupt, provoke, excel.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute assessments/audits for DoD/DoDIN-connected systems.
- Run threat emulation, performance tests, vulnerability scans (STIG Viewer/Nessus).
- Document in eMASS; analyze gaps; recommend fixes.
- Validate controls (RMF, NIST 800-53, STIGs, TTPs).
- Provide risk analysis for authorizations; lead briefings.
- Mentor team on expertise/best practices.
Basic Qualifications
- DoD TS/SCI eligible; IAM/IIAT II cert.
- BS IT + 8yrs cyber (5yrs A&A) or equivalent.
- STIGs/SRGs/POA&Ms mastery; tools: eMASS, ACAS, HBSS.
- RMF/NIST expertise (Cloud, Network, Endpoints).
- Elite communication for reporting.

- Coordinate logistics/test plans with SCA Team Lead
- Deliver in/out-briefs and risk analysis to SCA-R
- Mentor team on best practices/professional development
