Job Description

Undersea Technology Research Analyst

Join Leidos' Maritime Systems Division (MSD) in Suitland, MD, as an Undersea Technology Research Analyst supporting US Navy Intelligence. Provide expert analysis on undersea systems including unmanned undersea vehicles (UUVs), manned submersibles, seafloor imaging sensors (acoustic & optical), and undersea navigation/positioning technologies.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform all-source intelligence analysis on domestic and international undersea capabilities, readiness, and operations.
  • Research industry developments, attend 3+ maritime technology conferences annually, and deliver detailed trip reports with key findings, papers, and media.
  • Produce technical memos, reports, and briefings for senior leadership and customers.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on prototype design to full-scale deployment for Navy missions.
  • Engage partners on operational methodologies and emerging technologies.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years as a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) technician.
  • Active TS Security clearance.
  • Proven ability to brief senior leaders independently.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Background in foreign maritime analysis; knowledge of deep sea technology, ocean systems engineering a plus.
