As a USV Operator, you'll test and operate a cutting-edge 12m fast Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV). Responsibilities include safe navigation using hand-held controllers for nearshore ops and laptops for offshore missions, responding to weather, traffic, and tasking. Monitor Navy orders, maintain logs, assess risks, coordinate repairs with engineers, and prepare reports. Expect deployed work (up to 1 month), 24/7 shiftwork (2-3 months), day/night operations, and collaboration on testing/commissioning across Australia.
You have Coxswain Grade 1/2 certification, small commercial vessel experience, and familiarity with AMSA regulations, inshore/ocean boats, outboards, radar, AIS, satcom, and radios. Preferred: fast vessel ops (>40kts), ASV certification, long-range radio proficiency, naval experience, and first aid/CPR. Commit to shifts and deployments while promoting a proactive safety culture.
