Job Description
VPN - DMZ and WAN Network Engineer
Join Leidos on the Service Management, Integration and Transport (SMIT) contract, the largest IT services program for the U.S. Navy. Support the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) as a skilled Network Engineer specializing in VPN, WAN, and DMZ technologies.
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver SME support for VPN, WAN, DMZ, firewalls, and Cisco solutions on the world's largest intranet.
- Collaborate with NOC, admins, and engineers to improve security appliances, automation, SOPs/TTPs, CSI, and performance.
- Plan and execute upgrades with operations managers, NOC leads, and stakeholders.
- Provide Tier III support, vendor engagement, and root cause analysis for incidents and problems.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Maintain STIG/pre-STIG compliance for secure configurations.
- Develop Enterprise Infrastructure Planning (EIP) and CDRL documentation.
- Conduct pre-STIG assessments and align with enterprise standards.
Qualifications
- B.S. + 4-8 years experience (or equivalent).
- Active DoD Secret clearance.
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II (CCNP Security, CISSP, CASP+).
- Associate-level Cisco/Juniper/F5 certification.
- On-call and off-hours availability.
Expertise in Juniper firewalls, Cisco ASA/Firepower/ISR/ASR, secure VPNs, DMZ, WAN required. Location: Pearl Harbor, HI. Shift note: Bremerton, WA is night shifts only.

- On-call rotation and off-hours availability (experience)
