Job Description
VPN - DMZ and WAN Network Engineer
Join Leidos on the Service Management, Integration and Transport (SMIT) Contract, the largest IT services program for the U.S. Navy. Support the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) as a skilled Network Engineer specializing in VPN, WAN, and DMZ technologies. Design, implement, and maintain robust global network security using Juniper firewalls, Cisco ASA/Firepower, ISR/ASR routers, and more.
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver SME support for VPN, WAN, DMZ, firewalls, and Cisco solutions on the world's largest intranet.
- Collaborate with NOC, admins, and engineers to improve security appliances, automation, SOPs/TTPs, CSI, and performance.
- Plan and execute upgrades with NMCI Ops Manager, NOC Lead, and stakeholders.
- Provide Tier III support, vendor engagement, and Root Cause Analysis.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Ensure STIG/pre-STIG compliance and conduct assessments/remediation.
- Develop Enterprise Infrastructure Planning (EIP) and CDRL documentation.
- Align efforts with enterprise standards and processes.
Shift & Requirements
Wednesday-Sunday shifts (day/night based on location). Active DoD Secret clearance, IAT Level II cert (CCNP Security, CISSP, CASP+), and vendor cert required. B.S. + 4-8 years experience. On-call rotation essential.

- Availability for off-hours, on-call rotation (experience)
