Role & Mission

As a Purchasing Intern in Lennar’s Future Builders Program, your mission is to support the backbone of our homebuilding operations: efficient procurement, vendor management, and budget oversight. You will contribute to strategies that ensure Lennar remains a leader in delivering high-quality, affordable homes. This role demands precision, collaboration, and a proactive mindset to tackle real challenges in material sourcing and cost modeling. By optimizing supply chains and partnering with trade professionals, you directly influence the success of new communities, helping Lennar build not just homes, but legacies.

Detailed Responsibilities

Your day-to-day will be dynamic and impactful. Key responsibilities include:

• Assist with the development, maintenance, and use of cost-effective models: Dive into data-driven tools to analyze costs, forecast expenses, and recommend optimizations that keep projects on budget without compromising quality.
• Ensure Lennar’s trade partners are continuously improving in quality, cost, service, and delivery performance: Monitor vendor metrics, conduct performance reviews, and collaborate on improvement plans to build stronger, more reliable partnerships.
• Assist with implementing material sourcing strategies to optimize supply chain flow: Identify suppliers, negotiate terms, and streamline logistics to reduce delays and enhance efficiency across Lennar’s operations.
• Review budgets for new communities and help resolve issues before the community plan starts: Scrutinize financial plans, spot discrepancies, and propose solutions to preempt costly overruns, ensuring seamless project launches.

Technical & Behavioral Qualifications

• Current Junior pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree, graduating within 2 years (preferred).
• Working towards a degree in construction, supply chain, business, or a similar field.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and valid auto insurance coverage—essential for community visits.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder interactions.
• Interpersonal and customer service skills to foster collaborative relationships.
