Join us in San Diego, California, where innovation meets craftsmanship in the heart of sunny Southern California.

Executive Summary

The Jr. Construction Field Assistant role at Lennar is your gateway to a dynamic career in homebuilding. This entry-level position is designed as a temporary launchpad, providing hands-on exposure to construction processes with a clear path to promotion within our high-performing Construction team. Based in vibrant San Diego, you'll assist with model maintenance, customer communications, and site safety, all while contributing to zero-defect homes, cost management, and schedule adherence. With a competitive salary range of $33,280 - $58,240 annually (based on $16.00 - $28.00 hourly, assuming full-time), plus bonuses and commissions, this role offers immediate impact and long-term potential. If you have a strong work ethic, organizational skills, and a passion for construction, Lennar empowers you to build your future.

Role & Mission

As a Jr. Construction Field Assistant, your mission is to support the Construction Manager in delivering flawless homebuilding experiences from trench to customer move-in. This role bridges the gap between fieldwork and customer delight, ensuring models are pristine, sites are safe, and homeowners are informed every step of the way. You'll play a pivotal role in enhancing the Total Development Homeowner (TDH) experience, monitoring daily operations, and facilitating seamless trade partner coordination. At Lennar, we build with purpose: creating zero-defect homes that stand the test of time, managing costs efficiently, and sticking to schedules that make dreams come true. Your daily presence on-site in San Diego's thriving communities will directly contribute to our reputation for excellence.

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Assist Construction Manager Comprehensively: Support all construction responsibilities, including the supervision and scheduling of trade partners from the initial trench digging through to customer move-in. This involves coordinating plumbers, electricians, framers, and more to ensure smooth workflows and timely progress.
  • Enhance TDH Experience: Create and elevate the Total Development Homeowner experience for current and prospective customers through proactive engagement, personalized updates, and exceptional service that turns buyers into lifelong advocates.
  • Daily Model Maintenance: Monitor cleanliness and system functionality of models, documenting and scheduling repairs for all interior and exterior concerns. From landscaping to HVAC systems, you'll keep everything showroom-ready to impress visitors.
  • Customer Communications Hub: Manage detailed written and verbal communications, including emails and video conferences, on home building progress from purchase agreement through Certificate of Occupancy (COE). Keep customers excited and informed with transparent updates.
  • Safety & Cleanliness Enforcement: Ensure all community areas maintain the highest standards of safety and cleanliness, conducting regular inspections and addressing issues promptly to protect associates, trade partners, and visitors.
  • Administrative Support: Utilize MS Office to track schedules, generate reports, and maintain accurate records of construction activities, contributing to data-driven decisions.

These responsibilities provide a 360-degree view of construction operations, preparing you for advancement.

Technical & Behavioral Qualifications

Technical Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year of related experience in construction, field operations, or customer-facing roles.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) for documentation and communication.
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation for site visits across San Diego communities.

Behavioral Qualifications

  • Excellent organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superior communication skills, both verbal and written, for customer interactions and team coordination.
  • Strong work ethic, demonstrating reliability, punctuality, and a proactive attitude.
  • Physical fitness for full-time outdoor work: ability to work in heat, cold, rain; climb ladders/stairs; walk uneven surfaces; lift/carry 50+ pounds; and operate vehicles.
  • Team player with a customer-first mindset and commitment to safety protocols.

Regular in-person attendance at job sites and offices is essential—no remote options here; this is hands-on fieldwork.
