Lead Software Engineer, Salesforce

About Lennar

Lennar stands as one of America's premier homebuilders, consistently ranked among the top performers in the industry and recognized as a Fortune 500® company. For decades, we've been more than just builders—we're creators of communities, architects of dreams, and champions of exceptional living experiences. Our mission extends beyond constructing quality homes; it's about fostering vibrant communities, delivering unparalleled customer service, and cultivating a culture of opportunity and growth for our Associates.

Headquartered in a dynamic hub of innovation, Lennar leverages cutting-edge technology to streamline operations, enhance customer experiences, and drive sustainable growth. As we continue to expand our digital footprint, we're seeking visionary leaders like you to propel our Salesforce ecosystem to new heights. Join a company that's not just building homes but building the future of homebuilding technology.

Executive Summary

This is your opportunity to lead Salesforce transformation at a Fortune 500 homebuilding giant. As Lead Software Engineer, Salesforce, you'll serve as the architectural cornerstone of our CRM platform, guiding strategic implementations that directly impact home sales, customer service, and operational efficiency. With 7+ years of hands-on experience required and key Salesforce certifications, you'll partner with C-suite stakeholders, development teams, and business units to deliver scalable, secure, and innovative solutions.

Based in the thriving tech corridor of Irving, Texas, this full-time role offers competitive compensation (estimated $140K-$180K annually), comprehensive benefits, and clear pathways for career advancement. If you thrive in fast-paced environments where your technical expertise shapes business outcomes, Lennar is your platform for impact.

Role & Mission

Your mission: Transform Lennar's Salesforce ecosystem into a powerhouse of efficiency and innovation. As the primary system administrator and technical lead, you'll champion declarative development principles while strategically determining when programmatic solutions are warranted. You'll bridge the gap between business requirements and technical execution, ensuring every configuration aligns with Salesforce best practices and scales with our growing enterprise.

Reporting to senior IT leadership, you'll mentor junior administrators, collaborate with enterprise architects, and serve as the definitive authority on platform governance. This role demands not just technical mastery but strategic vision—anticipating future needs, evaluating emerging features, and positioning Lennar at the forefront of CRM innovation in homebuilding.

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Platform Administration Excellence: Serve as primary system administrator for multi-user Salesforce environments, managing health monitoring, performance optimization, and release management across production and sandbox orgs.
  • Solution Architecture Leadership: Lead design, configuration, and optimization using declarative tools including Flows, Process Builder, Einstein Automate, and Screen Flows to deliver scalable business solutions.
  • Stakeholder Partnership: Collaborate with enterprise architects, business analysts, and executive stakeholders to translate complex requirements into Salesforce-native solutions adhering to Governor Limits and best practices.
  • Governance Gatekeeper: Act as authoritative decision-maker on declarative vs. programmatic approaches, protecting platform integrity while enabling necessary custom development.
  • Security & Access Mastery: Design and maintain comprehensive security model including roles, profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, and field-level security across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud.
  • Data Governance Leadership: Champion data quality through deduplication strategies, data import processes, validation rules, and integration oversight with ERP, marketing automation, and third-party systems.
  • Continuous Improvement Driver: Lead optimization initiatives identifying automation opportunities, streamlining business processes, and enhancing user adoption through intuitive configurations.
  • Configuration Lifecycle Management: Coordinate sandbox-to-production deployments including custom objects, page layouts, record types, validation rules, and formula fields using Change Sets and DevOps tools.
  • Innovation Scout: Evaluate and implement Salesforce release features, pilot new capabilities, and integrate AppExchange solutions to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Developer Collaboration: Partner with Apex developers to refactor custom code into declarative equivalents, review code quality, and ensure maintainability.
  • Documentation Authority: Maintain comprehensive system documentation, data dictionaries, configuration runbooks, and user training materials.
  • Vendor Management: Orchestrate implementations with Salesforce partners and AppExchange vendors, ensuring seamless integration and ROI realization.
  • DevOps Integration: Support modern development practices including GitHub source control, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies using Jira and Slack.
