As a leader in the industry, Lennar Mortgage combines cutting-edge technology with deep industry expertise to streamline the lending process from origination to closing.

Headquartered in a dynamic ecosystem of real estate innovation, Lennar Mortgage operates nationwide, with a strong presence in high-growth markets like Florida. We are not just a mortgage provider; we are architects of financial futures, building careers as solidly as we build homes. Join us in Tallahassee, FL - Virtual, and become part of a legacy that transforms lives through homeownership.

Executive Summary

The Loan Closer position at Lennar Mortgage is a pivotal role in our high-volume mortgage operations, ensuring every loan closes flawlessly, on time, and in full compliance. Reporting to the Closing Supervisor, you will serve as the final gatekeeper of accuracy, coordinating with production teams, closing agents, and investors to deliver exceptional service. This virtual role based in Tallahassee, FL, offers the flexibility of remote work with the structure of a top-tier Fortune 150 company.

Ideal candidates bring 3-5 years of hands-on experience in Conventional, FHA, and VA loan closing, paired with meticulous attention to detail and mortgage software proficiency. Competitive estimated salary range: $55,000 - $75,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Full-time employment with comprehensive benefits awaits those ready to make a tangible impact on homebuyers' journeys.

Role & Mission

Your mission as a Loan Closer is to orchestrate the final stages of the mortgage lifecycle with precision and speed. You will dispatch closing instructions and document packages within stringent timelines, review every detail for accuracy, and approve critical documents like the Closing Disclosure (CD) and ALTA Settlement Statement. Collaborating closely with loan processors, production staff, branch managers, and closing agents, you ensure closing dates are met without exception.

At Lennar Mortgage, this role embodies our core values: zero defects, cost efficiency, and schedule adherence. You will safeguard revenue through vigilant fee monitoring, anticipate requirements to manage funding volumes, and interface seamlessly across teams to collect final conditions. Ultimately, you enable borrowers to receive their keys, turning financing hurdles into triumphant homecomings.

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Pre-Closing Accuracy Review: Scrutinize all data in the Loan Origination System (LOS) for completeness and correctness, verifying borrower information, loan terms, and supporting documentation.
  • Document Package Delivery: Prepare and transmit comprehensive closing instruction packets to closing agents within Lennar's required timeframes, ensuring all forms, disclosures, and investor-specific addendums are included.
  • Fund Wiring & Authorization: Execute timely wire transfers of necessary funds to closing agents, review and approve final Closing Disclosures (CDs), and issue funding authorizations only after meticulous validation.
  • Compliance Mastery: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of investor guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA) and state-specific closing procedures, forms, and regulations, applying them flawlessly to each file.
  • Document Verification: Conduct thorough audits of all loan documents for signatures, dates, amounts, and legal compliance before greenlighting funding and key release to borrowers.
  • Cross-Team Coordination: Partner with escrow coordinators, Branch Managers, Loan Officers, and processors to align on timelines, resolve discrepancies, and collect outstanding conditions of approval from borrowers.
  • Pipeline & Volume Management: Proactively anticipate closing needs, prioritize high-volume days, and maintain optimal timelines to hit monthly funding goals without compromising quality.
  • Revenue Protection: Monitor all fees charged, collected, and waived, ensuring maximum revenue capture while adhering to regulatory standards.
  • Post-Closing Support: Follow up promptly on document requests or corrections from the Post-Closing Department or investors, facilitating smooth handoffs to shipping and quality control.
  • Team Leadership: Assist the Closing Supervisor with overflow tasks, training initiatives, and process improvements; contribute to local marketing efforts with Division Managers and Loan Officers using tools like Mortgage Returns and lennarmortgage.com leads.

Note: Management reserves the right to adapt responsibilities to meet evolving business needs.
