  • Financial Reporting Mastery: Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly Division reports to region and corporate, ensuring all data is accurate and submitted on time.
  • Accounts Payable Backup: Serve as primary backup to the Land Controller for land accounts payable, matching receipts, coding P-Card invoices, and posting to the General Ledger with precision.
  • Vendor Management: Manage Vendor Insurance Maintenance and Compliance, monitoring certificates and ensuring all partners meet standards.
  • Business Planning Support: Participate in preparing yearly and quarterly P&L Projections as part of the Business Plan submission.
  • Asset Tracking: Maintain schedules of leased trailers and office equipment across on- and offsite locations.
  • P&L Analysis: Conduct monthly P&L reviews, identify discrepancies, and escalate concerns to leadership promptly.
  • Bill Review: Scrutinize bills pushed down from Region and Corporate for accuracy and appropriateness.
  • Financial Meetings: Prepare for and facilitate monthly financial ops meetings to scrub variances from budget on job costs for homes closing that month.
  • Payroll Oversight: Manage the Division payroll process, ensuring accuracy in submissions, expense reports, bi-weekly commissions, advances, bonuses, and proper record retention for audits.
  • Audit Support: Assist Division Controller and Assistant Controller in responding to internal and external audit requests timely and accurately.
  • Compliance Champion: Ensure adherence to internal controls, SOX, and regional/corporate policies.
  • Month-End Close: Contribute to month-end close processes, meeting corporate deadlines with flawless accuracy.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete SOP and Price Change requests, quarterly balance sheet packages, and monitor collections of energy and miscellaneous rebates.
  • Project Backup: Act as backup for Assistant Controller on Quarterly Warranty spending reviews, New Community setups in JDE, and legal bill processing in Serengeti.
  • Ad Hoc Duties: Handle other duties as assigned, showcasing your versatility.

Technical & Behavioral Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college, preferably in Accounting (required).
  • Graduate degree or CPA (preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of general accounting experience (required).
