The Life Cycle Assessment Sr. Analyst position in Purchase, New York, is pivotal in advancing PepsiCo’s greenhouse gas emission mitigation strategy. This role supports PepsiCo Positive 2030 and 2050 climate goals by managing the global Scope 3 emission factor program. You’ll develop precise emission factors, split them into life-cycle stages, and guide internal teams on LCA methodologies. Engaging with suppliers and industry bodies, you’ll shape decarbonization efforts, product innovation, and supply chain decisions. Ideal for sustainability experts passionate about agriculture, packaging, and GHG accounting.
Lead PepsiCo’s global database for GHG emission factors, ensuring accuracy for external reporting, product innovation, and decarbonization planning. Support annual Scope 3 inventory and regenerative agriculture GHG reporting by reviewing project data.
Identify new emission factor sources, collaborate with consultants on agriculture and packaging materials (e.g., bioplastics), and refine factors to model reduction potential. Split factors into life-cycle stages to pinpoint GHG reduction opportunities.
Create processes, training, and guidance for teams in Sustainability, Procurement, R&D, and Marketing. Evaluate supplier Product Carbon Footprints, support primary data acquisition, and assist Climate Solutions with decarbonization impact assessments.
Align emission factors with Greenhouse Gas Protocol standards, engage database providers, and contribute to industry groups like the World Business Council for Sustainable Development’s Partnership for Carbon Transparency.
Candidates need a Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, or a related field. Critical competencies include expertise in life cycle assessment (LCA) and corporate/product GHG accounting, with deep understanding of allocation approaches. Proficiency in SimaPro, advanced Excel modeling, and data analysis is essential. Strong project management, stakeholder engagement, communication (including PowerPoint), and teamwork skills are required. PepsiCo offers a competitive salary range of $84,000 - $140,650 USD, with actual pay based on experience, skills, and location.
