Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an Electro-Optical Controls Systems Engineer to join our team in Louisville, CO! The selected candidate will lead the end‑to‑end development of advanced optical systems, encompassing high‑speed control and signal‑processing functions. The position requires hands‑on laboratory verification and field testing of precision pointing and tracking optics, as well as leading trade‑off analyses, setting engineering priorities, and maintaining rigorous configuration control.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Create, flow down, manage, and ensure traceability of requirements
- Define and maintain system‑level interfaces
- Drive and conduct design reviews
- Produce clear technical artifacts such as specifications, ICDs, test plans, and interface control documents.

Basic Qualifications:
• Experience leading design reviews (such as SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.)
• Experience generating systems engineering artifacts and completing requirements decomposition
• Experience with signal processing algorithms
• Experience developing or working on high speed control systems
• Experience leading technical teams
• Active DoD TS clearance; must be able to obtain a TS/SCI w/Poly clearance; US citizenship required
Desired Skills:
• BS (or higher) in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related discipline
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams through concept development, risk analysis, and/or milestone achievement
• Experience with Cameo or MBSE Modeling
• Experience developing or working on optical payloads
• Experience working on space or ground ISR systems.
• Experience with products that include Software and Circuitware Development and Integration
• Experience defining system-level architecture
• Experience defining Design Reference Missions (DRMs)
• Experience in Class C/D, IRAD, or “go-fast” development environment
• Experience identifying risks and working with the team to set priorities and stay focused on the most important objectives related to burning down the risks
• Experience leading or interfacing with medium to large subcontracts
• Experience across full program lifecycles on large or small programs, from initial development through mission or test operations and use
• Active TS/SCI w/Poly clearance

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $118,700 - $209,300. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
