Description:

You will be the Penetrant Inspector for the Inspection Team. Our team is responsible for performing a variety of inspection operations on mechanical parts, assemblies, tools, jigs, fixtures, prototypes, and training devices throughout prototype, development, and production programs.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Penetrant Inspector you will be responsible for executing visual and layout inspections, utilizing a range of measurement devices, and ensuring that every component meets stringent quality standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting visual and layout inspections of completed systems, assemblies, and detail parts.


• Using conventional measurement instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) to verify dimensions and tolerances.


• Inspecting jigs, fixtures, and prototypes for compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.


• Documenting inspection results and reporting non‑conformances to engineering and manufacturing leads.


• Collaborating with production teams to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications:
• Applied knowledge of machine parts, tooling section or mechanical assembly inspection

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Ability to work on a team

• High school degree or equivalent

• Must be able to:
o Read and interpret Engineering drawings
o Use precision measurement equipment
o Use computer programs such as Word, Excel, etc.
Desired Skills:
•ASTM 1417 or NAS410 penetrant certification

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
