Come join Lockheed Martin's Remote Sensing (RS) Engineering Team. This diverse team has been a primary provider of national Remote Sensing capabilities for over 50+ years. As part of our team you will get to build products that elevate the mission and be a trusted partner for critical national capabilities.

As a CONOPS and Mission Operations Engineer, you will:

• Define the concept of operations for a cutting-edge space system as well as develop the operations products, plans and procedures to put it into action.

• Help plan, coordinate and execute satellite training and on-orbit operations.

• Develop the plans, processes and products to conduct on-orbit satellite initialization and operations.

• Help plan, coordinate and execute satellite flight rehearsals and training

• Coordinate with customers and contractors to develop and execute integrated test plans for space vehicle and constellation level events.

• Develop innovative automation methods for accelerating the design, build, test, and release process utilizing MBSE, Agile and DevOps processes.

• Develop new and creative ways to present and visualize engineering data and documentation in a web-based environment

• Participate in studies and system trades to define and evaluate enhanced mission capabilities

-This position requires special access to support the program and requires the selected candidate to be a U.S. Citizen

Basic Qualifications:
• Experience with one or more systems engineering functions including:
a) System trade studies, CONOPS, constraints and/or system modeling
b) Requirements, Interface Control Document (ICD), or Interface Definition Document (IDD) development
c) System integration, fault management, test and/or verification
d) Test planning and execution with an understanding of all the interdependencies
e) Satellite mission operations planning, testing or execution

• Active or Current Top Secret security clearance with investigation completed within the last 5 years
• Ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI Clearance w/Poly prior to start
Desired Skills:
• 2+ years of experience with spacecraft architecture design, development, integration, test, with knowledge of space, missile and launch systems at the component through system level
• Experience developing space system CONOPS, ICDs, fault management, operations products, or test procedures.
• Experience with satellite launch rehearsals or operations event planning and execution
• Experience with SV level commanding execution in test or on-orbit
• Experience with GitLab, Jira and Confluence software
• Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering tools (Cameo, Rhapsody, etc.)
• Experience with a software scripting/programming language (e.g. Python, HTML, Matlab, Visual Basic, C/C++, etc.)
• Strong presentation skills and capable of briefing audiences of varying technical knowledge
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members
• Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker with the ability to select and apply appropriate systems thinking skills to solve problems and implement constructive change
• Bachelors degree in an engineering, computer science, or closely related subject area, or equivalent experience

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $73,400 - $129,260. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
