Your Impact

As a Legal Intern at Lowe’s, you’ll gain exposure to the wide range of legal matters impacting a FORTUNE® 100 retailer. You’ll work alongside attorneys and legal professionals who support areas such as corporate governance, contracts, compliance, real estate, labor and employment, intellectual property, and litigation. From conducting legal research and drafting documents to supporting negotiations and compliance initiatives, you’ll develop practical skills while contributing to meaningful projects. If you’re pursuing a legal career and want to experience the fast-paced environment of in-house counsel, this internship is designed to give you hands-on learning and mentorship.

Summer Internship Program

Whether you're starting your professional journey or pivoting to a new field, Lowe's offers the resources and opportunities you need to thrive. Our 10-week summer internship program (May 26th – July 31st) immerses you in real-world retail operations. You'll work directly with industry experts across our stores, distribution centers, and corporate offices, gaining practical experience through hands-on projects that make meaningful contributions to our business and communities.

What You Will Learn

• Conduct legal research on statutes, regulations, case law, and emerging issues.
• Draft memoranda, contracts, and compliance documents under attorney supervision.
• Assist with corporate governance and entity management processes.
• Support attorneys in labor, employment, and compliance matters.
• Participate in contract review, negotiation, and risk analysis.
• Gain exposure to litigation management, intellectual property, and real estate transactions.
• Observe and learn about the role of in-house counsel in advising business leaders.

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Juris Doctor (JD) program.
• Expected graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.

Preferred Skills/Experience

• 3.0 cumulative GPA.
• Proficient in MS Office programs (specifically in Power Point, Excel and data analysis tools).
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.

• Relevant coursework or prior legal internship experience.
• Experience in a leadership position at work or within a campus organization.
