Key Responsibilities

The Anaplan Model Builder at Lyft owns the end-to-end lifecycle of our financial planning models. Here's what success looks like in the role:

• Model Architecture & Development: Build sophisticated multi-dimensional Anaplan models supporting budgeting, forecasting, headcount planning, and P&L analysis from design specs and best practices.
• Business Requirements Translation: Partner with FP&A professionals to convert complex business needs into functional model hierarchies, formulas, and modules under Master Anaplan guidance.
• Data Integration Mastery: Engineer seamless integrations between Anaplan and source systems (SAP, Workday, Salesforce) using APIs, flat files, and cloud connectors in partnership with IT.
• Dashboard & Reporting Excellence: Design executive-ready dashboards, drill-down reports, and mobile-optimized pages that empower decision-makers across all levels.
• Data Governance: Implement rigorous validation routines, reconciliation processes, and audit trails ensuring 100% data accuracy and compliance.
• Production Support: Provide expert troubleshooting for model performance issues, formula errors, and user access problems with 24-hour SLA resolution targets.
• Testing Leadership: Drive comprehensive testing strategies including unit tests, UAT coordination, regression testing, and performance benchmarking for all model releases.
• Documentation Standards: Maintain living documentation covering model lineage, calculation logic, version history, and user guides accessible via Confluence.
• Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify model optimization opportunities reducing calculation times, memory usage, and maintenance overhead.
• User Enablement: Deliver hands-on training sessions, create video tutorials, and develop self-service resources accelerating FP&A team adoption.
• Innovation Leadership: Stay ahead of Anaplan platform roadmap, testing beta features and proposing innovative solutions for emerging business challenges.
• Stakeholder Alignment: Manage requirements gathering workshops, prioritize enhancement backlog, and communicate roadmap progress to executive sponsors.
• Resilience Engineering: Design fault-tolerant model architectures with backup calculations, data replication, and disaster recovery procedures.

Qualifications

To excel as Lyft's Anaplan Model Builder, you need proven technical expertise combined with business savvy:

• 3-5+ years building enterprise Anaplan models for FP&A functions
• Anaplan Model Builder Level 2 certification (Level 3 preferred)
• Deep expertise in Anaplan formula engine, modules, lists, hierarchies, and versions
• Advanced Excel mastery (Power Query, VBA, dynamic arrays, XLOOKUP)
