Position Summary

Join Sonoco as a Machine Operator I in Beecher, IL. Reporting to the Supervisor, you will collaborate in our dynamic production environment on the 1st shift: 6:00 am-4:30 pm, Monday-Thursday (overtime possible Fridays). Starting at $20.37/hour, you'll operate rotational molding machines to produce high-quality parts while ensuring efficiency and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor rotational molding machines, molds, and equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
  • Conduct routine product checks for specifications like cure, thickness, and sizing.
  • Perform mold maintenance including cleaning, waxing, and adjustments; report issues immediately.
  • Optimize machine performance to minimize downtime and maximize output.
  • Maintain housekeeping, log production data, and ensure safety compliance.
  • Provide feedback for process improvements and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, stand/bend for extended periods, and climb ladders.
  • Experience with manufacturing equipment preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player with clear communication abilities.
