Job Summary

The Tube Mill Operator plays a critical role in the tube production cell, operating specialized equipment like tube mills, swagers, corrugators, and spot welders to create high-quality steel tubes. This position involves setup, operation, quality checks, basic maintenance, and reporting. Ideal for mechanically inclined individuals with production experience who thrive in team-oriented settings. 2nd shift schedule: 3pm-11pm, full-time.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate production machines to roll, weld, cut, swage, and corrugate steel tubes per exact specifications.
• Set and adjust machine parameters for optimal performance.
• Monitor raw materials, tube dimensions, weld quality, and shape; log results in computer systems.
• Load steel strip coils into tube mills, perform spot welds between coils, and change electrodes.
• Transfer tubes between machines (mill to swager to corrugator) and ensure proper identification.
• Complete history cards, production reports, quality logs, and hour-by-hour boards.
• Perform autonomous maintenance: cleaning, inspection, lubrication, and 5S organization.
• Communicate effectively with operators, supervisors, maintenance, quality teams, and engineers.

Skills & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1+ year in production/industrial environment
• Basic math, measurement skills (calipers, micrometers)
• Familiarity with machine control panels and basic welding concepts
