Position Summary
Sonoco is seeking a skilled Machinist for our Milwaukee, WI facility. This full-time night shift role (6pm-6am, 3/4/4/3 schedule) offers $39.19/hour plus $1.00/hour shift differential. As a Machinist, you'll play a critical role in maintaining and repairing production equipment, ensuring precision machining, and upholding our safety and quality standards in a dynamic packaging environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Comply with all safety practices, conduct inspections, and investigate accidents.
- Review blueprints, calculate dimensions, and machine parts to precise tolerances.
- Set up and operate lathes, mills, grinders, and hones for efficient production.
- Perform equipment repairs, assembly, and on-the-job training for team members.
- Support SQF food safety guidelines and environmental regulations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent with 2+ years of machining experience.
- Strong blueprint reading, math skills (algebra, geometry, trigonometry), and metallurgy knowledge.
- Proficiency in machine shop tools and computer operation.
- Demonstrated tool & die skills and commitment to safety protocols.
