The Maintenance Assistant Manager at PepsiCo in Singapore is a critical leadership role within the Engineering department. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising and leading shift-based maintenance technicians to ensure seamless operations of all production equipment, from fillers and conveyors to utilities infrastructure.
  • Managing the Repair and Maintenance (R&M) budget through close coordination with procurement, optimizing outsourced contracts, competitive bidding, and vendor negotiations for cost savings.
  • Championing safety and compliance with SFA, FDA, GMP, AIBI, and EHS requirements, including issuing work permits and overseeing onsite contractors.
  • Driving troubleshooting, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implementing preventive measures to minimize downtime and prevent reoccurrences.
  • Monitoring equipment performance, recommending modifications, and leading Capex projects or upgrades in collaboration with process engineers.
  • Guiding the Maintenance Planner on SAP PM scheduling and spare parts inventory optimization.
  • Supporting the Utilities & Facilities Lead to maintain site infrastructure reliability.
  • Developing team capabilities through training, coaching, and maintaining accurate documentation in SAP and Teams.
  • Participating in EHS & GMP inspections, closing out observations, and managing near-miss follow-ups.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed as PepsiCo's Maintenance Assistant Manager, you need:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronic, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, lean manufacturing principles (including 5S), and RCA methodologies.
  • Proven track record in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment, such as bearings, pumps, valves, motors, VFDs, PLCs, and sensors.
