RESUME AND JOB
PepsiCo
PepsiCo is a global leader in the food and beverage industry, renowned for iconic brands like Doritos, Wotsits, Pepsi, and Lay's. With operations spanning over 200 countries, PepsiCo employs hundreds of thousands of passionate professionals dedicated to delivering high-quality snacks and beverages. In the UK, our Coventry facility stands as a cornerstone of our manufacturing excellence, producing some of the nation's favourite snacks. We prioritize innovation, sustainability, and employee well-being, fostering an environment where maintenance engineers like you can thrive while ensuring seamless production lines.
As a Maintenance Engineer at PepsiCo's Coventry site, you'll be at the heart of our fast-paced FMCG manufacturing operations. This hands-on role involves skilled electrical and mechanical work to keep high-speed production equipment running at peak efficiency. Working a continental shift pattern—4 days on, 4 days off, averaging 42 hours per week—you'll rotate through 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends and bank holidays. Your expertise will directly support the production of beloved UK snacks, contributing to PepsiCo's commitment to quality and reliability in the food and beverage sector.
In this critical position, you'll execute a range of maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include carrying out manufacturing maintenance in your designated area, maximizing wrench time while strictly adhering to safety protocols. You'll support continuous improvement initiatives using the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle, providing valuable feedback to planners and leadership to optimize schedules, maintenance frequency, and parts planning.
Additional duties encompass conducting pre- and post-maintenance quality checks, managing lubrication mapping and execution, and aiding in the simplification of lubricant rationalization. You'll train the autonomous maintenance team on essential equipment knowledge, basic Clean-Inspect-Lubricate routines, and fault diagnostics. Leading root cause analysis sessions with your technical expertise and promoting strong 5S standards across the plant will be key to your success. This role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and clear communication with cross-functional teams.
To excel as a Maintenance Engineer at PepsiCo Coventry, candidates must hold an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent engineering apprenticeship with substantial hands-on experience. A recognized electrical or mechanical academic qualification is essential, complemented by strong electro-mechanical knowledge. Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems is required, alongside a solid understanding of equipment and technical standards.
We're seeking individuals with a strong sense of ownership for safety, quality, and performance, excellent problem-solving skills, and effective communication abilities. Note that for certain roles, we may request declaration of any unspent criminal convictions in line with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, treated confidentially and relevant only to role suitability.
PepsiCo offers an exceptional compensation package for Maintenance Engineers. Enjoy an annual salary of £55,161.97, inclusive of shift premiums, plus quarterly performance bonuses ranging from £325 to £750. Our pension scheme is unmatched: contribute 5%, and we'll double it with 10%. Family support includes 10 weeks of fully paid parental leave and 26 weeks of extended leave.
Additional perks include provided PPE (uniforms and safety shoes, cleaned on-site), a 24-hour online GP for you and your family, free virtual physiotherapy, discounted gym membership, long service rewards, critical illness cover, an electric car scheme, a staff shop with discounts on PepsiCo products, a day off on your birthday, and options to buy or sell holiday leave. These benefits underscore PepsiCo's commitment to your holistic well-being.
At PepsiCo, career progression is a reality for dedicated professionals. As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll gain exposure to advanced manufacturing technologies, leadership opportunities in continuous improvement, and training programs that build your expertise. Many team members advance to senior engineering roles, maintenance supervision, or cross-functional positions in operations and supply chain. Our focus on PDCA and root cause analysis equips you with transferable skills valued across industries. With internal mobility programs and leadership development, your PepsiCo journey can lead to exciting global opportunities.
