The Maintenance Fitter - Day Shift position at PepsiCo's Regency Park facility offers a permanent full-time opportunity with The Smith’s Snackfood Company. This day shift role runs Monday to Thursday from 6:00am to 2:30pm and Friday from 6:00am to midday, providing an excellent work-life balance. Based in Regency Park, South Australia, you'll maintain critical plant and equipment in a fast-paced FMCG environment, ensuring operational efficiency for some of the world's most loved snack brands. Join a team that values safety, innovation, and continuous improvement in the food manufacturing sector.
In this hands-on role, you'll be the frontline expert in keeping production lines running smoothly. Key responsibilities include performing troubleshooting, planned preventive maintenance, minor installations, commissioning work, and corrective maintenance on plant and equipment. You'll update and extract data from the SAP Computerised Maintenance Management System to track performance and maintenance history. All work must be executed professionally, timely, and safely within PepsiCo's robust Safety and Environmental management systems. You'll also assist in identifying, documenting, and implementing improvements to maintenance procedures, enhancing machine availability, product quality, and workplace safety. Collaboration with outside contractors will be essential to support larger projects and repairs.
Expect to solve real-time issues under pressure while contributing to long-term reliability of manufacturing assets. Your systematic approach to problem-solving will directly influence production uptime and efficiency.
To succeed, candidates need engineering qualifications at the Trade Certificate level or equivalent. Proven experience in troubleshooting and fault finding is crucial, ideally within the food industry for its unique hygiene and speed demands. You must demonstrate the ability to work autonomously and safely under pressure, with a flexible attitude towards overtime, training, and occasional shift work. A systematic problem-solving mindset, coupled with strong safety awareness, is non-negotiable. Food industry experience is advantageous but not essential, as PepsiCo provides comprehensive onboarding.
All applicants must have legal work rights in Australia. Reasonable adjustments are available for the application and interview process upon request.
PepsiCo offers a competitive benefits package designed to support your wellbeing and lifestyle. Enjoy discounts on Scoopon, Luxury Escapes, and the Asahi Beverages portfolio. Take advantage of generous leave options, including 20 weeks paid parental leave for both primary and secondary carers. Health and wellness programs include discounted private health insurance, financial coaching, counselling sessions, flu vaccinations, and skin checks. Additional perks like Lease Plan, professional development programs, and sustainability initiatives make this role rewarding beyond the paycheck.
PepsiCo invests in your future with tailored professional development programs, training opportunities, and pathways for advancement. From hands-on maintenance to leadership in operations or engineering, your contributions are recognised, opening doors to broader roles across our global network. As part of a Top Employer, you'll benefit from mentorship, skill-building, and exposure to cutting-edge technologies in sustainable manufacturing.
