Position Summary

Sonoco is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic I-II for our Woodland, WA facility on the 1st shift. Reporting to the Production Manager, you'll perform proactive maintenance tasks to ensure high-quality, efficient production and timely shipments. With a pay rate of $34.13-$41.91/hr (depending on experience), this role emphasizes safety, quality, productivity, and a strong work ethic. Overtime is required as needed in our dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and maintain auxiliary equipment to support production needs.
• Repair utility and facility-related equipment as directed by Plant Leadership or Engineering.
• Assist and train other maintenance personnel on repairs, PMs, and rebuilds.
• Collaborate with departments for proactive problem-solving and minimal downtime.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area and lead small equipment projects.
• Timely respond to and correct unplanned machine faults.
• Uphold Sonoco’s quality and safety policies at all times.

Required Qualifications

• Industrial or military experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills; PLC, industrial, and motor controls experience preferred.
• Paper converting industry knowledge (winders, saws, rotary equipment) a plus.
• Physical ability to use lifts, ladders, kneel, bend, twist, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable with overtime, independent work, and multi-tasking across shifts.
• Familiarity with TPM principles highly desirable.
• Proactive, safety-focused team player who ensures jobs are done right.
