The Maintenance Supervisor (Reliability Execution Lead) at PepsiCo's Mesquite, Texas facility is a pivotal third-shift role (10pm - 6:30am) ensuring the consistent, reliable, and efficient operation of manufacturing lines. This position leads preventative and predictive maintenance programs, drives equipment uptime, and supports planning for maintenance days, overhauls, and rebuilds. With a focus on cost efficiency, continuous improvement, safety, and service, you will oversee a team of facilities department team members. Regular plant floor presence is required, including occasional lifting up to 40 lbs, forklift operation, and exposure to varying weather conditions. Ideal for mechanical experts ready to optimize asset performance in a fast-paced production environment.
In this leadership role, you will champion reliability strategies across the plant. Key duties include overseeing the full equipment lifecycle, from preventative maintenance and vibration/oil analysis to down days, overhauls, rebuilds, and daily verifications (DVs). You will lead root cause analysis, coaching teams to eliminate repeat failures, and partner with Maintenance Technicians, production managers, line pair leads, and external OEMs for compliance and longevity.
Build and motivate a high-performing maintenance team by deploying 5S and visual factory concepts to boost asset utilization. Develop capabilities through hiring, training, feedback, and effective employee relations. Administer policies, deliver change leadership, and communicate cross-functionally to resolve operational issues while minimizing people impact.
Ensure all activities meet lock out/tag out and regulatory standards. Facilitate team ownership, coach on proper equipment operation, and gather insights from Maintenance Captains to optimize line performance.
To succeed as Maintenance Supervisor at PepsiCo, candidates should bring a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering, business, operations management, or a related field. Preferred qualifications include Lean Six Sigma experience via a major improvement project, 5+ years in operations maintenance (with 2+ years supervisory), and hands-on mechanical experience. Understanding of PLC programming, proficiency in Microsoft Suite and SAP, and the ability to lead teams with constructive feedback are essential. Physical demands include plant floor work, lifting, and occasional equipment operation.
