Key Responsibilities

As a Maintenance Technician, your primary accountabilities ensure seamless operations at our Howell plant. You'll perform preventative maintenance per manufacturer specs, repair equipment malfunctions, and conduct breakdown analysis to minimize downtime. Daily tasks include general housekeeping, upgrading production lines with new technology, collaborating with contractors, and handling package changeovers. Compliance with GMP, safety, and audit standards is essential, alongside accurate documentation of work schedules and tasks. Expect weekend or holiday work as needed, with frequent lifting, climbing, and working in challenging conditions.

Daily Duties Breakdown

• Inspect and repair gear boxes, chains, motors, and bearings
• Troubleshoot pneumatics, hydraulics, and conveyors
• Perform line speed adjustments and kinematics calculations

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed, candidates must be 18 years or older and pass a technical assessment covering job-critical maintenance knowledge. Basic qualifications include experience with mechanical systems like gear boxes, chains, sprockets, motors, seals, and bearings; reading product manuals for repairs; troubleshooting breakdowns; and interpreting mechanical drawings for hydraulics and pneumatics. You must provide your own hand tools and thrive in a self-managed environment.

Helpful Experience

Stand out with knowledge in basic electrical systems (starters, fuses), compressors/ammonia refrigeration, conveyors, VFDs, gearing rebuilds, hydraulic troubleshooting, PLCs, pneumatics, pumps, schematics, SERVO motors, and high-speed packaging. Team-based experience in consumer products manufacturing is a plus.
