Role Overview

As Manager, Auditing and Monitoring, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding Cardinal Health's AHS business against compliance risks. Reporting to the Director of Ethics & Compliance – At-Home Solutions, this position demands expertise in healthcare regulatory compliance, particularly third-party billing and reimbursement for durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies (DMEPOS). You will manage billing audits, detect documentation and coding errors, ensure payer requirements are met, and lead a dedicated internal audit team. This remote, nationwide role offers the chance to work collaboratively across revenue cycle management, Legal, and Enterprise Privacy teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day impact will include:

  • Delivering expert compliance guidance to Revenue Cycle and business teams on Medicare, Medicaid DMEPOS billing, local coverage determinations, supplier standards, and other payer rules.
  • Acting as liaison with government contractors for audits while overseeing a small internal billing compliance team.
  • Planning and executing audits to verify documentation accuracy, coding, medical necessity, and high-risk billing areas.
  • Leading data analytics on audit results, identifying trends, and recommending remedial actions.
  • Evaluating billed items against supporting documentation to ensure CMS and payer compliance.
  • Preparing detailed audit reports with recommendations, presenting to stakeholders, and tracking corrective actions.
  • Partnering with Legal on risk assessments informed by audit findings, CMS initiatives, OIG work plans, and industry best practices.
  • Designing and implementing targeted compliance training on federal/state regulations, billing rules, and internal policies.
  • Conducting regular training sessions for Revenue Cycle staff and providing feedback on claim deficiencies.
  • Serving as the go-to subject matter expert on evolving documentation, billing, and coding regulations.
