The Manager, Global Trade Compliance position at Cardinal Health in Mexico-FIELD is a pivotal leadership role within the Global Trade Compliance (GTC) team. Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Trade Compliance, you will spearhead compliance strategies for maquiladora sites and commercial activities. This role demands expertise in Mexican trade programs like IMMEX, Rule 8, and PROSEC, alongside proactive tariff management amid geopolitical shifts. As a key advisor, you will foster a culture of compliance, mitigate risks, and align operations with international regulations, ensuring seamless import/export processes in the healthcare sector.
Lead the development and implementation of robust trade compliance policies tailored to maquiladora operations. Ensure adherence to Mexican customs regulations, IMMEX requirements, and global trade laws, including tax implications. Provide regulatory guidance, training, and support to Global Trade Operations teams.
Monitor geopolitical developments and tariff changes affecting Mexico trade flows. Design and execute mitigation strategies, leveraging programs like Rule 8 and PROSEC to optimize costs and minimize risks. Conduct risk assessments and drive continuous process improvements.
Partner with site leadership to maintain compliance standards across import/export processes, classification, valuation, and documentation. Serve as the primary liaison with Mexican customs authorities and external partners.
Collaborate with global trade, supply chain, legal, and finance teams to align initiatives with business goals. Deliver training on compliance best practices, provide sourcing intelligence, and strengthen new product review processes.
To excel as Manager, Global Trade Compliance, candidates need a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience, plus 10+ years in global trade compliance with significant maquiladora exposure. Deep knowledge of IMMEX, Rule 8, PROSEC, health permits, and VAT rules is essential. Advanced proficiency in English and Spanish (written and spoken) is required, alongside experience at large multinationals. Proven success in tariff strategies, cross-functional relationship building, and managing priorities in fast-paced environments is critical. Superior problem-solving, communication, and adaptability skills complete the profile.
