You'll manage a small team creating high-impact content across channels like videos, conference talks, workshops, live streams, open source contributions, and community events. This role demands strong technical judgment from your background as a software developer or SRE, combined with proven management experience.

Key Responsibilities at Datadog

• Lead a high-performing team of Developer Advocates, setting work priorities and fostering career growth
• Define and execute team OKRs while contributing to overall Advocacy strategy
• Ensure consistent shipping of high-quality technical content and community deliverables
• Remove roadblocks, both technical and procedural, to enable peak team performance
• Maintain hands-on technical contributions through videos, talks, and content creation
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams
• Prioritize incoming requests and align initiatives with Datadog's observability goals
• Represent Datadog at conferences, workshops, and developer communities worldwide
• Champion application performance monitoring (APM), cloud infrastructure observability, and modern DevOps practices

Qualifications & Requirements

• Technical Foundation: Former software developer, SRE, or practitioner experienced building/maintaining production systems
• Management Experience: 2-5 years managing small teams with proven coaching and career development success
• Advocacy Expertise: Respected developer advocate skilled across multiple channels (writing, talks, workshops, streaming, OSS)
• Programming Proficiency: Comfortable with 2+ languages like Python, Go, Node.js, Bash
• Infrastructure Knowledge: Familiarity with IaaS cloud services, containers, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps tooling
• Strategic Thinking: Experience defining OKRs, driving execution, and balancing management with hands-on work

Salary & Benefits

The estimated yearly salary range for this Developer Advocacy Manager role is $154,000 - $226,000 USD, plus competitive equity. Actual compensation considers skills, experience, and qualifications.
