Role Overview

Datadog is seeking an exceptional Manager II, Engineering - Agent Customer Experience to lead our mission-critical team in Bordeaux and Lyon, France. This high-impact leadership role owns the vision and delivery of Datadog's Agent Customer Experience platform, transforming how customers install, configure, update, and troubleshoot the Datadog Agent across any platform and environment. You'll empower SRE and Observability teams with centralized governance, configuration standards enforcement, and seamless fleet management.

As the technical leader of this growing group, you'll partner with Product and Engineering teams to deliver our strategy around Datadog Onboarding, Fleet Automation, Remote Management, and Remote Configuration. This nascent platform is expanding rapidly to new use cases and environments, with a laser focus on ease of use and time-to-value for customers at every stage of their observability journey.

Key Responsibilities at Datadog

  • Own end-to-end vision and delivery for the Agent Customer Experience platform, from strategy to execution
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to build product-first solutions
  • Coach and mentor engineering managers and senior engineers, building high-performing teams
  • Engage directly with customers to understand pain points and translate them into product roadmaps
  • Lead technical architecture for fleet automation, remote configuration, and onboarding workflows
  • Drive platform expansion to new environments, platforms, and enterprise use cases
  • Champion reliability and scalability for systems serving millions of Datadog Agents globally
  • Shape product direction through deep technical expertise and customer insights

  • 5+ years leading multiple engineering teams including senior ICs and engineering managers
  • Demonstrated success designing highly reliable distributed systems for critical business functions
  • Experience partnering with Product teams to transform ambiguous challenges into executable plans
  • Deep expertise in observability, monitoring, and agent-based platforms
  • Strong customer-facing experience gathering requirements and driving product improvements
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
