Role Overview

As Manager, Medical Affairs at Gilead Sciences in Foster City, California, you will play a pivotal role in the global launch of a pipeline asset, bictegravir/lenacapavir, for HIV treatment. This full-time position within the Global Medical Affairs team focuses on creating person-centric educational content and supporting key deliverables pre- and post-launch. Reporting to the Director, you will collaborate with Global and US Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Global Strategic Marketing, and other cross-functional partners. Key Responsibilities

Your core duties will center on medical content management and strategic support for Gilead's HIV portfolio:

  • Serve as a content manager and knowledge expert for bictegravir/lenacapavir and broader HIV treatment materials.
  • Collaborate with the Director to develop the Global Plan of Action and align team activities.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on strategic planning, scientific resource development, conference activities, and training.
  • Manage the creation, review, and updating of slide decks, infographics, medical narratives, and other resources.
  • Provide therapeutic area training for Medical Affairs personnel and develop training materials.
  • Attend global scientific conferences to gather insights and support deck development.
  • Independently analyze emerging data and integrate it into content and trainings.
  • Maintain the HIV SharePoint page for resource dissemination.
  • Support advisory programs and manage projects to completion, resolving obstacles collaboratively.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate strong scientific acumen and industry experience:

  • Advanced scientific degree (MD, DO, PharmD, PhD or equivalent) with relevant clinical experience in HIV.
  • Prior pharmaceutical industry experience (1-3 years preferred, ideally in Medical Affairs).
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills, including PowerPoint presentation development.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information from multiple sources and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, with the capacity to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven multitasking, prioritization, autonomy, and independence.
  • Up to 5% travel for domestic and international conferences/meetings.
