Role Overview

The Manager, Global HIV Prevention Medical Affairs position is an office-based role in Foster City, California, reporting to Global HIV Prevention Medical Affairs leadership. This critical role supports the HIV Prevention Global Medical Affairs team in delivering strategically aligned medical educational activities, projects, and operational processes. You will play a key part in advancing Gilead's HIV prevention initiatives, including pipeline products like PrEP options, ensuring healthcare professionals are equipped with the latest knowledge to combat HIV.

This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively across functions such as Commercial, Marketing, Clinical Research, Pharmacovigilance, Epidemiology, Regulatory, and Legal, fostering efficiency and innovation in medical affairs.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will independently manage, facilitate, or support a range of essential duties under the direction of the Global Medical Affairs (GMA) team:

  • Assist in launch planning activities for Gilead's HIV prevention pipeline products.
  • Execute the HIV Prevention Global Medical Affairs Plan of Action.
  • Develop educational resources, including slide decks, infographics, videos, and digital materials, to enhance healthcare professionals' understanding of HIV prevention and PrEP options.
  • Implement Medical Affairs Advisory Programs, from concept discussions to execution with necessary approvals.
  • Coordinate and roll out GMA communications to local teams.
  • Attend assigned HIV congresses, leading or supporting activities like conference deck development, medical kick-offs, advisory boards, and symposiums.
  • Collaborate with Gilead personnel across multiple functions on strategy execution and content creation.
  • Support training within the therapeutic area for Medical Affairs and other departments.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A PharmD, Ph.D., MD, DO, MPH with 0-2 years of experience, or another advanced health-related or life science degree (MS +4 years; BS +6 years).
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred, particularly in Medical Affairs.
  • Relevant experience in HIV/HIV prevention or infectious disease therapeutic areas is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in medical communications around clinical data and developing educational resources such as slide decks, infographics, and videos.
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with management on complex problem-solving and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
