Key Responsibilities at Datadog

• Manage and develop technical teams: Lead Analytics Engineers and Data Platform Analysts, setting expectations, coaching performance, and building technical expertise.
• Drive data platform roadmap: Define strategy for reporting tools, data modeling, governance, pipeline automation, security, and AI-enabled people analytics.
• Build data pipelines and models: Own architecture in dbt and Snowflake, supporting full employee lifecycle from recruiting to development.
• Lead reporting migration: Evaluate vendors, implement row-based security, and integrate AI into unified dashboarding environments.
• Oversee data governance: Monitor quality, standardize metrics, catalog data, document processes, and enforce access policies for sensitive HR information.
• Develop AI analytics tools: Create secure, natural-language querying interfaces and scalable self-service products for business leaders.
• Partner cross-functionally: Work with People Leadership, People Tech, Recruiting, Finance, and central teams to align data ecosystem with business needs.
• Ensure data trust and usability: Deliver accurate, well-modeled people data that's easy for stakeholders to access and analyze.
• Champion security and compliance: Design row/column-level permissions and privacy-preserving architectures for HR data domains.

Qualifications & Requirements

• 6+ years in analytics engineering, data engineering, or platform management; 2+ years leading technical teams.
• 2-5 years managing analysts with focus on performance coaching, career guidance, and project breakdown.
• Expert SQL skills plus mastery of modern data stack: dbt, Snowflake, Airflow, Airbyte, cloud warehouses.
• HR data expertise across HRIS, ATS, LMS, performance, talent, recruiting metrics.
• Experience with secure architectures: row/column permissions, governance, privacy models.

• Exceptional stakeholder management translating business needs to technical roadmaps.
