What are my responsibilities?

• Develop and improve automation solutions for production lines and special-purpose machines (PLC/HMI, sensors, actuators) to ensure stable and efficient operations.
• Lead commissioning activities for new machines/lines and support FAT/SAT processes with internal teams and suppliers.
• Implement and optimize machine vision applications to improve detection accuracy and reduce quality escapes.
• Establish and maintain machine-to-machine communication and data acquisition (industrial networks / IoT) to support digitalization and traceability.
• Perform systematic troubleshooting and root cause analysis (5 Why, Ishikawa, etc.), define corrective actions, and ensure sustainable closure.
• Drive continuous improvement projects using Kaizen / Lean / Six Sigma methods to enhance OEE, reduce downtime, scrap, and cycle time.
• Create, update, and validate technical documentation (Time-Path diagrams, pneumatic schematics, EPLAN drawings, work/maintenance instructions) with proper revision control.
• Coordinate effectively with Production, Maintenance, Quality, IT and suppliers; provide technical guidance and trainings when required.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

• University degree in Mechatronics / Mechanical / Electrical-Electronics Engineering (or related fields)
• Proven experience in automation concepts and PLC programming (preferably Siemens) and HMI commissioning
• Experience with machine vision systems and applications (e.g., Keyence, Cognex, or similar)
• Knowledge and hands-on practice in Industrial Communication / IoT concepts (e.g., Profinet/Profibus, Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP; OPC UA is a plus)
• Experience in Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma projects; strong problem-solving mindset (5 Why, Ishikawa, etc.)
• Ability to create/read Time-Path Diagrams; competence in pneumatic schematics and EPLAN drawing/reading
• Basic statistics knowledge; able to analyze process data; Minitab experience is preferred
• Good command of written and spoken English; German is an asset
• Willingness to work in a production environment and provide hands-on support during commissioning and critical issues when needed
