Role Overview

The Manufacturing Leadership Development Program (EMBARK) is an entry-level professional development initiative designed for recent college graduates eager to launch their careers in the healthcare industry. Starting July 1, 2026, at our Rayong, Thailand gloves manufacturing plant, this 12-month program immerses participants in a highly regulated medical manufacturing environment. Participants will take on a Material & Purchasing Officer I role, reporting to the Purchasing Manager, focusing on planning, procurement, and supervision of raw materials. This program builds foundational skills in manufacturing operations, engineering principles, and leadership, preparing you to navigate Cardinal Health's dynamic organization while owning your career path.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you'll drive critical supply chain functions to support seamless production of healthcare products. Key responsibilities include:

• Monitoring raw material movements and developing systematic materials requirement plans (MRP) to prevent stock-outs and optimize inventory turns.
• Tracking engineering changes for raw materials and packaging to minimize obsolete inventory.
• Analyzing actual and forecasted production plans to determine timely material and supply needs.
• Executing purchases of raw materials at competitive prices, ensuring compliance with quality, quantity, delivery, and regulatory standards.
• Coordinating with production, warehouse, and QA teams to handle rejected materials, close PRRs, and resolve issues efficiently.
• Preparing procurement solicitations, negotiating terms with suppliers, and managing contracts for optimal value.
• Sourcing new suppliers to support VIP projects and conducting performance evaluations for qualification and reviews.
• Monitoring purchase price variance against standard costs and setting up standard costs for annual budgeting.
• Leading safety initiatives, investigating accidents, ensuring compliance, and training direct reports on workplace safety.
