Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. (experience)
  • 10+ years of experience in systems engineering or platform engineering roles. (experience)
  • Deep understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems. (experience)
  • Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy management. (experience)

  • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible or Chef. (experience)
  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. (experience)
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V. (experience)
  • Solid understanding of network security principles and practices. (experience)
  • Experience with firewall management and intrusion detection/prevention systems. (experience)
  • Familiarity with SIEM tools such as Splunk or QRadar. (experience)
  • Experience with vulnerability management and patch management processes. (experience)
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and backup/recovery solutions. (experience)
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. (experience)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills. (experience)
  • Experience working in an OT (Operational Technology) environment is a plus. (experience)
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are a plus. (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Identify performance bottlenecks, conduct root cause analysis, and propose and implement solutions to enhance platform & system performance and resource utilization.
  • Establish performance benchmarks, conduct capacity planning, and collaborate with other teams to optimize infrastructure performance.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of troubleshooting procedures, measures to minimize platform & system downtime, and documentation.
  • Partner with vendor technical support to drive for resolution of complex technical issues.
  • Lead and manage platform & system technical support activities and troubleshooting efforts, including handling escalated and complex issues.
  • Perform advanced system tuning and optimization to maximize performance using IT Service Management practices.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance support processes and methodologies.
  • Participate in future platform & system backup planning.
  • Lead the design of disaster/system recovery and testing.
  • Analyze performance and utilization data to identify trends and patterns and provide recommendations for optimization and improvement.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on infrastructure performance and implement corrective actions to drive continuous system improvements.
  • Lead the design and configuration of complex platforms & systems, considering best practices and industry standards.
  • Lead ongoing compliance with original design and configuration and correct for deviation from standards.
  • Build and deploy highly available and scalable infrastructure solutions.
  • Lead the creation and maintenance of a comprehensive knowledge base for platforms & systems, including troubleshooting guides, configuration documentation, and best practices.
  • Promote knowledge sharing culture by organizing training sessions, mentoring junior engineers, and encouraging cross-team collaboration.
  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade systems across Windows and Linux environments.
  • Partner with IT, cybersecurity, and operations teams to deliver secure, scalable, and automated infrastructure solutions.
  • Ensure platforms are resilient, compliant, and aligned with industry best practices.
