The Business Development Lead is a key architect of MassMutual’s Worksite value proposition and central to delivering on the enterprise priority to extend and deepen distribution channels while driving innovative product and profitability solutions. The leader will be responsible for development and negotiations with internal and external partners that drive our product manufacturing roadmap and pricing fundamentals. The leader must define and execute the Worksite strategy for Voluntary Benefits, including Group Whole Life and Supplemental Health.
The Business Development Lead will be a highly seasoned Worksite professional, recognized across the organization and industry, and share their expertise and knowledge for the betterment of MassMutual’s Worksite business. They will coach, mentor and develop others within our matrix product and business organizations.
Define and deliver on the MassMutual Worksite Strategy and value proposition for Voluntary products including Group Whole life and Supplemental Health.
• Build compelling products to help our advisors package and offer innovative solutions to their clients as part of their overall employee benefit offerings.
• Partner internally and externally with key constituencies including distribution, underwriting, corporate finance/actuarial and marketing to position and deliver high value solutions.
• Maintain a strong understanding of competitor and industry trends as well as distribution relationships.• Present and make recommendations to senior leadership, distribution and key distribution relationships on a regular basis.
Minimum Qualifications
Current knowledge of the Worksite/voluntary benefits plan industry, competitors, products and services
10+ years of experience in product management/development
Experience in marketing and distibution of worksite/voluntary and supplemental health beneftis
Some travel required (approximately 25%)
FSA preferred
