As a Metadata Specialist in our Data Science & Business Intelligence team, you will play a pivotal role in our innovation culture by designing and governing educational metadata that powers K–12 literacy and social studies programs in our digital ecosystem. This remote position, open to U.S. authorized applicants, requires bridging educational expertise with technical precision to drive personalized, data-informed learning. In this role, you will collaborate with curriculum, assessment, data science, and product teams to align metadata with instructional models, content, and personalization features. You will establish metadata quality standards, monitor accuracy across systems, and develop structured models and automated tagging workflows to boost discoverability and analytics. By researching emerging practices like CASE and 1EdTech standards, you will ensure interoperability and support algorithmically driven experiences that enhance teaching and student engagement. Your work will directly contribute to McGraw Hill's mission of fostering equitable education through innovative technology. Success demands 5+ years in edtech, deep knowledge of CCSS-ELA, NCSS, and learning progressions, plus hands-on metadata experience. Excellent communication, attention to detail, and collaboration skills are essential to thrive in our dynamic, cross-functional environment.
