This remote position, open to U.S.-authorized applicants, requires 10-20% travel and demands experience in AI product management or development. As the Product Owner - AI, you will champion our platform vision, balancing innovation with improvements to shape the future of McGraw Hill's higher education strategy. Work closely with users, technology product managers, engineers, designers, and stakeholders to conduct research, define requirements and roadmaps, launch new builds with GTM teams, measure KPIs, and drive enhancements. Partner with your director to prioritize builds, secure investments, and ensure platform success, fostering an innovation culture that delivers differentiated AI experiences. Drive AI strategy by defining vision, roadmaps, and business cases; lead research on needs and trends; manage partnerships with ethical focus; guide implementations like adaptive learning; set metrics for adoption and performance; and align teams for impactful launches. Bring 5-7 years in AI-focused product management, knowledge of LLMs, NLP/ML principles, and AI ethics. Key Responsibilities

  • Drive AI strategy and innovation by defining product vision, building investment business cases, and creating roadmaps that maximize customer value and revenue opportunities
  • Lead market and user research to understand customer needs, competitive landscape, and emerging trends
  • Oversee AI technology partnerships by evaluating, selecting, and managing vendors to align with platform strategy
  • Guide technical implementation of AI features such as adaptive learning, personalization, and recommendations
  • Collaborate with data science teams to refine models and enhance outcomes
  • Ensure ethical and measurable AI adoption by setting success metrics like model performance, ROI, and user adoption
  • Monitor real-world performance and safeguard fairness, transparency, and privacy
  • Align and influence cross-functional stakeholders including Engineering, Data Science, Product, Design, and GTM teams
  • Work closely with users, technology product managers, engineers, designers, and stakeholders to conduct research and devise requirements
  • Partner with director to determine product team builds, investments needed, and KPIs tied to usage and quality
  • Support go-to-market execution for new platform builds and customer experiences
  • Measure in-field performance against KPIs and implement improvement strategies

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, advanced degree preferred
  • 5-7 years' experience in product management or related field with a focus on AI-driven products and features
  • Experience working with AI in product management or product development
  • Working knowledge of LLM frameworks and tools such as LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or LlamaIndex
  • Understanding of their application in educational contexts
  • Understanding of NLP, machine learning, and deep learning principles
  • Knowledge of AI ethics, bias mitigation, and responsible AI development
  • Authorized to work for any employer within the United States
