We're seeking a dynamic Sales Representative to support universities and colleges in the Syracuse and Ithaca territory. Reporting to a District Sales Manager, you'll drive digital product sales by forging meaningful connections with faculty and key stakeholders, leveraging McGraw Hill's innovative edtech solutions to transform higher education. Sales Representatives at McGraw Hill are entrepreneurial communicators who thrive in fast-paced environments. You'll grow our digital user base, exceed sales targets, and become a trusted advisor by delivering customized learning solutions. Daily campus visits (5 days/week) in Syracuse and Ithaca require residing locally (preferably Rome, Syracuse, or Ithaca), a valid driver's license, and occasional out-of-state travel. Harness data, CRM tools, and our cutting-edge technologies to identify opportunities, manage pipelines, and collaborate with bookstores and internal teams. Key Responsibilities

  • Leverage McGraw Hill’s existing customer base to grow digital users and increase market share in new course areas
  • Seek out and engage prospective customers in discovery sessions and introductory presentations of customized learning solutions
  • Reach or exceed established sales goals for assigned territory and partner with internal support teams to drive revenue
  • Build strong relationships with faculty and administrators, becoming their trusted advisor for higher education course solutions
  • Continuously identify new opportunities to cultivate partnerships with educators
  • Collaborate with college bookstores and business offices to ensure delivery of content and understand campus initiatives
  • Ensure effective implementation and proper use of McGraw Hill technologies, including delivering sales presentations
  • Use a CRM system to develop and maintain territory pipeline from prospect to close
  • Effectively manage business and sampling budget
  • Work with sales leadership on sales strategy

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 2 years of sales experience
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a car
  • Reside within the territory (preferably Rome, Syracuse, or Ithaca, NY)
  • Evidence of being a high achiever with a track record of success
  • Ability to travel daily within Syracuse and Ithaca territory and occasionally out-of-state
  • Comfortable spending 5 days per week on campus meeting faculty and staff
