Position Overview:
Siemens Mobility is seeking to hire a Mechanical Desk Engineer in West Palm Beach, FL to assist the Locomotive Engineer and onboard train staff with urgent queries or at the train on route with our long-term maintenance contract for a fleet of high-tech rolling stock. The fleet consists of Tier 4 compliant high-horsepower locomotives in a push-pull configuration with elegant coaches to deliver a high-end customer experience. These trains operate from Orlando to Miami with up to 125 mph 7 days a week.
If train crews have a problem with a locomotive or the coach, they call the "Mechanical Desk" 24/7 on the radio/phone from the train route. The "Mechanical Desk" supports solving the problem on the radio/phone or en route. The trainset is in trouble, and you lead the problem-solving!
We have the responsibility to assist the on-train staff remotely or en route in a critical situation and guide them through troubleshooting to limit service delays supported by remote data from fleet monitoring that is sent directly from the trainsets will be utilized.
