As a Medical Scientist, your responsibilities will include responding to clinical inquiries about marketed and developmental Gilead products. You'll present compelling scientific and clinical data to diverse audiences, identifying and cultivating regional and national opinion leaders. Building strong relationships with clinical investigators and providers in academic and non-academic settings is crucial. You'll support sales force training, contribute to Phase IV programs, and aid in site selection for clinical trials. Collaboration with internal teams in Sales, Marketing, Clinical Research, Global Safety, and Medical Communications is essential. Anticipating field challenges and delivering impactful presentations using scientific resources will be daily tasks. Expect regular travel and a commitment to ongoing education to stay abreast of scientific and regulatory updates.
Candidates should hold an advanced degree such as MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, or NP/PA, though a BS in pharmacy or BS/MS in nursing with substantial experience may qualify. At least three years of clinical practice experience is required, with industry experience highly desirable. Proven ability to prepare and deliver presentations is mandatory, alongside experience in clinical trial management or investigation. Clinical patient contact strengthens applications. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are non-negotiable, as is the capacity to work in cross-functional teams. Full awareness of scientific data and regulatory requirements for field-based roles, plus a dedication to continuous learning, rounds out the profile.
