A Day in the Life

Provide transactional support within the Global Operations and Supply Chain legal team to a broad range of Medtronic business clients that are seeking to acquire goods and services from suppliers. Coordinate the delivery of these transactional Legal services with attorneys and subject matter experts within Medtronic.

This position reports to the Paralegal Manager for Global Operations and Supply Chain.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

·           Analyze, draft and negotiate commercial contracts with suppliers for a broad variety of goods and services, with a focus on professional services, hardware, capital equipment, technology and other general sourcing contracts.

·           Partner with other subject matter experts across a global matrixed organization, including coordination with Security, Privacy, Compliance, Regulatory, Federal Contracts and Trade Compliance.   

·         Work collaboratively with other, paralegals, lawyers, and administrative staff to provide the legal support for the areas described above.

·         Negotiate standard corporate agreement templates with attorney supervision.

·         Collaborate with legal staff in multiple legal workstreams to develop and implement common approaches and templates.

·         Participate in other projects as assigned or as needed.

MUST HAVES: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

2 years of paralegal experience or legal degree.

Drafting, analyzing, and negotiating agreements/contracts experience is a must

NICE TO HAVE

·         Demonstrated ability and experience with commercial transactions involving technology solutions and/or licensing, such as technology solutions, cloud hosted, and software licensing.

·         Flexibility, adaptability, responsiveness, and collegiality.

·         Ability to perform in fast-paced environment with competing priorities.

·         Experience negotiating sourcing-supply contracts.

·         Experience working with information technology supplier agreements.

·         6+ years’ experience at a law firm and/or in-house with increased responsibility

·         Analytical risk identification, evaluation, and management skills.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·         Experience working within a highly matrixed organization.

·         Superior common sense and exceptional judgment.

·         Integrity and strong ethical center.
