A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned

• Administer and maintain ALM tool databases (e.g., Codebeamer, Polarion), ensuring data integrity, performance, and availability.
• Design, develop, and optimize queries and reports to support traceability, compliance, and audit-readiness.
• Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) between ALM tools and other systems (e.g., ERP, QMS, PLM).
• Analyze large datasets within ALM platforms to support decision-making, quality assurance, and project tracking.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, QA, regulatory, and IT teams to align data structures with product development processes and standards (e.g., ISO 13485, ISO 26262, IEC 62304).
• Support integration of ALM tools with DevOps pipelines, test management systems, and requirements management tools.
• Assist with tool configuration, permission management, and workflow customization.
• Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations relevant to the product domain.

Required Knowledge and Experience

• Hands-on experience with Codebeamer, Polarion, or other ALM tools (e.g., Jama, Jira, Doors NG).
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational database management systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL Server).
• Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and system engineering workflows.
• Experience in regulated industries (e.g., medical devices, automotive, aerospace) is preferred.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 14971, IEC 62304, ISO 26262 is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Required: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• Preferred: - M.E or M.Tech in Computer Sciences, or equivalent.
• 10+  years of experience.
